Pure IP Gets ChangePilot Integration to Simplify Microsoft 365 Change Management

Telecom BCM One has announced its Pure IP Enterprise Voice solution customers can now utilise ChangePilot to track and manage updates and changes within Microsoft 365.

“ChangePilot will save Pure IP customers a lot of time and resources associated with update management, helping them to mitigate risk and maintain compliance without adding more to their already full plates,”

Diana Florea, Director of Product Management at BCM One, said.

The feature, powered by Empowering.Cloud, will aim to help IT teams understand the necessary updates coming through but will summarise them into key points and assign impact ratings for quicker understanding of importance.

Reducing Complexity of Updates

Pure IP Enterprise Voice is a platform-agnostic solution within the BCM One portfolio, and it integrates with Microsoft 365 through the “Direct Routing” service.

Microsoft often releases patches or updates for its solutions.

In fact, Patch Tuesday is the second Tuesday of every month, when Microsoft releases security and other updates for its software.

Although these updates are often important, encompassing feature enhancements, policy modifications, and necessary configuration changes, they can cause issues for users.

“Microsoft releases a lot of valuable updates and important changes. IT teams are stretched thin and simply don’t have time to manage them all, but they can’t afford to miss impacting changes,” Florea said.

The updates are often even applied automatically, which can lead to governance and compliance issues for companies with specific configurations.

Equally, they can lead to potential service disruptions should a configuration not align with a setup.

As such, it is crucial for IT teams to stay informed about these changes to mitigate risks effectively.

Yet, often, IT teams may not have the time in their schedules to do some general housekeeping.

“Last year, the average tenant received 1501 messages from Microsoft,”

Tom Arbuthnot, Co-founder of Empowering.Cloud, said.

Thus, integrating ChangePilot’s solution offers more comprehensive capabilities than the native Microsoft Message Centre.

It automatically collects all new and updated items from the Message Centre and Roadmap, employing AI and human expertise to summarise essential points and assign impact ratings.

Featuring interactive dashboards and detailed reporting tools that assist teams in managing updates more effectively, this functionality not only enhances visibility but supports automated workflows for collaboration.

This service includes everything from informative messages to critical alerts regarding potential issues.

Reducing this noise can allow IT teams to quickly skim updates and apply the necessary ones without sacrificing large chunks of their day.

Examining Microsoft Security

Although this patch intends to help Pure IP customers better apply updates, like those concerning security, the tech titan is itself streamlining its operations in that area.

Microsoft started Q1 of 2025 by implementing new job cuts across a number of divisions in its business.

Targeting employees across gaming, experience and devices, sales, and security, the job losses come hot off another Microsoft announcement of separate and unrelated performance-related job cuts across its business.

Microsoft has, however, been facing increasing criticism regarding its cybersecurity posture over the past two years.
